I’m yet again in another two weeks of an advanced training with my teacher (Hi Jason!). Let me first say, I truly love doing these trainings. However, sometimes they can be very daunting. For two weeks, I meet from Monday through Saturday for about eight hours and learn, learn, learn. The difference between this and previous educational settings I’ve found myself in is that this is something I’m passionate about. I never wanted to sit and learn more about my craft than now. It makes me happy to share this with others, but more importantly, I feel empowered with knowledge. Before I started teaching yoga, I was super on the fence about taking a workshop or even a teacher training. It took some really big pushes from my tribe to get me to my first workshop. The experience ended up being amazing. I learned about breath, flow, alignment, and the history of yoga. I was able to not only take my own practice to the next level, but I could share my new depth of understanding with others. Deep down inside we all want to learn for ourselves, not because others say we should. When you find yourself in this place in your practice, don’t be afraid to turn to your teacher. That’s what they’re there for. Chances are they’ve been right there too and they can give guidance on where to go, such as a workshop or specialty training that might be suited to your needs. Here’s a hint: the yoga pool doesn’t have a shallow end, so feel free to dive in head first and go as deep as you’re ready to.
See you on the mat. Much love and good vibes.
