Private Instruction

Private Yoga Sessions enable me to focus exclusively on you and your needs – what you hope to get out of yoga practice, your general fitness level, your degree of flexibility, and any previous injuries or health conditions that need to be accommodated.

Unlike in a group yoga class where you may anonymously struggle with a position, I can alter a pose on the fly so that you get the maximum benefit without injury. I can adjust a workout to your needs that day, which may change from one session to the next. One-on-one yoga sessions are truly the best way to experience yoga, especially for beginners.

I offer private yoga sessions Monday – Saturday by appointment.

Why Private Yoga Instruction?

It’s Less Intimidating…
A private session reduces or eliminates any level of intimidation associated with attending a group class for the first time. In one or two private sessions, you can prepare for what to expect in class and learn enough basics to make you feel comfortable.

Individualized Instruction…
We can design a practice to accommodate any injuries, health concerns, or other limitations you may have. Maybe you’ve put off attending your first yoga class because you’re concerned about re-injury. Working one-on-one with an instructor will give you the opportunity to learn valuable modifications and postures to avoid for when you are in class.

Tailored to Your Intentions…
Do you have specific goals you are trying to achieve? If you are coming to yoga for a specific reason, whether physical, spiritual, mental, or emotional, we can offer some guidance on how to achieve those goals.

Class Recommendations…
After working closely with you in one or more private lessons, we’ll be able to recommend appropriate group classes for you based on feedback during your private sessions.

Before you come for your session

  • Wear comfortable clothes that you would wear to an exercise class. Yoga is done barefoot, so no shoes required.
  • Please bring your own mat if possible for sanitation purposes; there are mats to borrow if needed.
  • Please fill out the Yoga Release Statement and bring it to your first session, or arrive early for your first session in order to read and sign it.
